Introduction
Welcome to the PA Utility App—your companion for connecting to and managing PA instruments.
This guide covers the basics to get you installed, connected, and productive in minutes.
For detailed procedures, safety notes, and troubleshooting, please refer to the full PA Utility User Manual.
Install the App
📱 Ensure you are connected to the internet and have at least 1 GB of free space before installation for smooth operation and additional required files and operations.
- Open Google Play Store.
- Search 'PA Utility'.
- Tap Install.
- Open.

First Launch & Onboarding
- Grant permissions when prompted.
- Accept Terms & Conditions.
- Sign in or Create New Account (See Create New Account)

🔒 All permissions comply with POPIA and are used solely for device functionality.
💡 Tip: Check the Auto sign in box to automate sign in.

Create New Account
- On the Sign-In screen, tap Create Account.
- Enter your details: Full Name, Mobile Number, Company Phone Number, Company Email, and Password (minimum 8 characters, including at least one number and symbol).
- Tap Sign Up. Check your inbox for a verification OTP (One-Time Password).
- Enter the verification OTP in the provided field.
- Tap Confirm to complete registration.

Connecting To PA Instruments
- Insert the PA Bluetooth Dongle into the PA Instrument.
- Sign in to the PA Utility App.
- Slide up the bottom panel on the Dashboard to scan for available Bluetooth instruments.
- Tap Connect to pair with the desired instrument.
- Once connected, device information and status will be displayed on the Dashboard’s bottom panel.
📡 Tip: Make sure Bluetooth and location is ON.
⚠️ Ensure the instrument’s power is ON before scanning.
⚠️ Requires a Process Automation Bluetooth Dongle:
By default, the Bluetooth name follows the format BGX9129, with the last four digits derived from the device’s MAC address. After pairing the instrument with your mobile device, the Tag, Application, and Platform information is automatically displayed.
Note: iOS does not allow for the MAC Address to be displayed.

Renaming Bluetooth
- Connect to your PA Instrument.
- Slide the bottom panel upward to reveal additional options.
- Tap Rename Bluetooth.
- Enter a new name for the Bluetooth dongle.
- Tap Save to apply the changes.
⚠️ Only a maximum of 8 Characters.

Retrieving Calibration Data
- Open the Cal Data Manager.
- Tap the floating action button located at the bottom-right corner of the screen.
- Enter the required details in the Retrieve Calibration Data dialog.
- Tap Save to complete the process.
⚠️ Older UNIPRO V/M software do not support this feature.

Restoring Calibration Data (Cal Data)
- Connect to your UNIPRO device.
- Open the Cal Data Manager.
- Select the desired Cal Data record to view its details and confirm that it is the correct file.
- Tap the Restore button located at the bottom-right corner of the screen.
- Enter the password when prompted. (You can obtain this from your Process Automation representative.)
- Verify that the UNIPRO information matches the selected Cal Data details.
- Tap Restore to complete the process.
⚠️ Older UNIPRO V/M software do not support this feature.
⚠️ Double check the comparison information before restoring.
⚠️ UNIPRO will be offline during the restoration.

Updating or Changing UNIPRO Software
- Connect to your UNIPRO device.
- Open the Software Update feature.
- Select the desired software category.
- Choose the software version you wish to install.
- Review the warning message and tap "Understood" to proceed.
- If your UNIPRO supports Calibration Data, a prompt will appear to retrieve the data before programming. This step is recommended.
- Verify that the UNIPRO information matches the selected software details.
- Tap the "Program" button to begin the update.
- Read the final warning and tap "Understood" to confirm.
⚠️ Double check the comparison information before restoring.
⚠️ UNIPRO will be offline during programming.
⚠️ UNIPRO 4 does not support software updates.

Troubleshooting
| Issue | Troubleshoot Solution |
| ❌ Can’t connect? | Check Bluetooth and location is on. Check Bluetooth adapter led is on. |
| ❌ No calibration data? | Update UNIPRO software. |
| ❌ Not receiving invitations? | Restart app + check permissions. |
| ❌ App closing on open? | Clear app cache and data or reinstall app. |
| ❌ Programming failed on reset? | Start programming sequence again and during reset countdown manually press the UNIPRO reset button. |
